BAT Conclusions are now published

EFFOP is excited to share that the Commission Implementing Decision establishing the best available techniques (BAT) conclusions under Directive 2010/75/EU for Slaughterhouses, Animal by-products and/or Edible co-products Industries (SA) have been published today in the Official Journal of the European Union (Commission Implementing Decision (EU) 2023/2749).

This decision marks the beginning of a 4-year implementation period for factories, starting from December 11, 2023. A direct link to the document (available in 24 languages) is available here.

In the coming weeks, final adjustments and formatting changes will be made to the SA BREF document. The aim is to soon release the Best Available Techniques Reference document for Slaughterhouses, Animal by-products, and Edible co-products Industries (SA BREF) on the EIPPCB website.
